5901 - PBX Operations Support
The PBX Operations Support position will have primary responsibility for providing technical support for Nortel voice systems and related applications for 1400 staff. Responsibilities: ? Nortel 81C/CS1000 Release 4.5, BCM 400 Release 4.0, Option 11c Release 3.0, Call Pilot with Desk Top Messaging Release 4.0, Symposium Call Center Release 6.0, Telstrat Call Center Recording, Avotus Switchview for MAC/Accountability Reporting, Polycom Sound Stations, Nuance Speech Attendant and InterCall Audio Conference Systems. ? Trouble Shoot hardware, software, cable related issues and outside vendor provided circuits. ? Maintain procedures, proposals, plans and guidelines for telephone operations. Maintain all telecom documentation ? (system designs, trunk lists, pagers, Cell Phones, new hire telephone packages, etc.). ? Install, troubleshoot, and maintain inventory and accounts for the following: Headsets, Polycom Sound Stations, Cellular Phones, Pagers, Calling Cards, InterCall Audio Conference Authorization Cards, Telecom Hardware and other vendor services/products. ? Plan and implement software and hardware upgrades to the PBX and other vendor supported products. ? Train and oversee desktop support staff in the installation and set up of telephone equipment/systems. ? Review all telephone service bills ? troubleshoot billing issues, optimize cost/value for network configuration and equipment. ? Optimize the telephone network for maximum utilization and efficiency while controlling costs. ? Design and support WW office telecommunications networking to connect all office systems for transporting call traffic in the most efficient and cost effective means. ? Negotiate contracts for vendor services and provide information regarding alternatives which may provide reduced pricing along with more effective services. Qualifications: ? College Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information System or related field. ? 3 years Technical Support with Nortel 81C/CS1000 and Applications listed. ? Knowledge of voice networking topology/protocols. Knowledge of local/long distance vendor networks for T3/T1, VOIP, ISDN, Muxes, and CSU?s. ? Ability to troubleshoot issues related to Nortel PBX operation. ? Project Management knowledge desirable. Note: Please mention Get PBX Jobs (GetPBXJobs.com) in your cover letter when applying.
